First and foremost the First Presbyterian Church of Bastrop, Louisiana gratefully acknowledges the promise of grace and salvation through Jesus Christ. With that assurance in mind, we strive always to “be doers of the word, and not hearers only” (James 1:22), to receive others as we would receive Christ, and to exercise Christian love and charily to those in need, both in our community and throughout the world, “for thereby some have entertained angels unawares”(Hebrews 13:2).
In keeping with the above statement we do strive continually to support those within our own congregation with love, hope and charity; to be a consecrated body in Christ supporting this church and the church universal; to be always in prayer for world salvation.
